Although the Aqara Presence Sensor FP1E is not officially listed as a "Works with SmartThings" or Aeotec-certified device, it is fully compatible with SmartThings hubs via a custom Edge Driver. The driver developed by Andreas Roedl (and others in the ST community) allows the FP1E to connect directly to your hub via Zigbee without the need for an Aqara bridge.

Performance & Reliability
The Aqara FP1E is a mmWave (millimeter wave) radar sensor, which is far more sensitive than traditional PIR motion sensors. It can detect "micro-movements," such as a person breathing while sitting still.
Pro Tip for Reliability: One common issue with mmWave sensors is "ghosting"—where the sensor continues to report "human present" even after you leave the room. The FP1E mitigates this with a unique “AI Spatial Learning” feature. By toggling this setting in the SmartThings app after installation, the sensor learns to ignore static objects (like fans or moving curtains) that might otherwise cause false triggers. Additionally, ensure you use a high-quality 5V 2A power adapter, as insufficient power is the leading cause of pairing or reporting issues.
